Bikepacking for Men’s Mental Health
738 miles. 14 days. £5,349 target.
Riding the UK Great North Trail, fully self-supported, to raise £5,349 for Tough to Talk. £1 for every man who died by suicide in the UK in 2024.
Why this Matters
Hi, I’m Sam, Chair of OX Trails.
In recent years, I’ve lost two male colleagues to suicide. What stayed with me wasn’t just the loss, but the ripple effect. Families. Friends. Colleagues. Hundreds of people impacted by one death.
Most of us already know talking helps. Too many men still don’t. This challenge isn’t about awareness, it’s about inspiring action earlier, before silence turns into crisis.
When we founded OX Trails, one of our long-term goals was to promote health and wellbeing through cycling. This challenge is a part of that mission.
I want this challenge to support men’s mental health by inspiring men to speak up and by raising funds for Tough to Talk, a charity that works with organisations and communities to help men speak openly about what’s really going on in their lives.
Break the Cycle.
